It is easy to get caught up in the weekly plans and daily to-do lists. We find that time quickly comes and goes like that. How often do we stop and enjoy the time of life we are in? Right now, this is the only time you both are engaged with each other. Ten, twenty, […]
Not every newly engaged couple wants to have their engagement session on the sandy beach itself, but would rather have the ocean in the background of their images. Jared and Janessa decided to have their engagement photo taken at San Fransisco’s Sutro Baths.
It was Christine’s wish to have her engagement photos taken at a location in San Fransisco that fit her “formal” engagement session vision. Now you can look formal anywhere. Right after the engagement session, I saw a bride a groom come into the coffee shop I was at, and the photographer took some pictures of them all dressed up while drinking coffee! Simplicity is adequate, but I knew that Christine and Derick wanted their engagement session location to match their stunning and smoking formal look, so I suggested the popular (for an excellent reason) San Fransisco’s Palace of Fine Arts.
Chris & Kylie decided that they were going get married at San Fransisco’s City Hall. Because they traveled from the east coast, getting married at SF’s City Hall became their destination elopement wedding. Fortunately, the majority of their family and friends live in the west coast, so guests were easily accommodated to travel relatively locally for a weekend.
Weeks out from Trey and Jaclyn’s engagement session at San Fransisco’s Baker Beach there was a constant watch over the weather reports and predictions for the day of the photo session. San Fransisco is of course known for unpredictable weather patterns, so hoping that the day you’ve chosen to travel to the iconic city with the Golden Gate bridge can be a gamble. Thankfully the day chosen was partly cloudy enough to allow in enough sun for their weather perfect engagement session at Baker Beach!

It reveals a person’s character, hopes for the future, and reminds yourself and those who hear who you are as a person. Although a casual and non-provoking question, the stories shared becomes the outline of the visual story Karissa Wright Productions prepares and creates through our wedding photography and videography.
An outdoor engagement session is unique in itself, so we have provided some outfit ideas based on weather and locations. Are you planning on having your photos taken near a beach, national forest, or local park? No matter what, these tips and ideas will help you figure out what works for you.
I had a blast shooting this Jon and Kelly’s engagement shoot in the Marin Headlands near San Fransisco. These two were so easy-going, fun and hilarious to be around and capture their personalities and love for each other. Kelly submitted to our Free Engagement Giveaway and told me their story. Instead of re-writing their story, I thought it best to be shared from her perspective!
