An outdoor engagement session is unique in itself, so we have provided some outfit ideas based on weather and locations. Are you planning on having your photos taken near a beach, national forest, or local park? No matter what, these tips and ideas will help you figure out what works for you.
Capturing this engagement session with Zared and Jennifer reminded me of the simplicity of capturing couples in a genuine and unique way to showcases who they are as a couple. Not one couple is alike. As a creative, it is my goal to retell every story in a personal way that reminds each couple 40, 50, 60 years from now, why they love each other.
Adventure engagement sessions are my new favourite things to photograph!
Our goal is to capture the love of couples near and far. That being said, we drove a total of 9-hours for this San Luis Obispo engagement shoot that could not be rescheduled no matter what the weather could have been. The future bride and I were both disappointed and nervous about the rain, but we decided to give it a shot and hope for the best. BEST DECISION EVER!
Shooting Pedro and Susan’s engagement photos at Rodeo Beach in Marin Headlands was absolutely spectacular! Having a stranger take your photos can be super nerve-racking (to which Pedro and Susan admitted to upon the start of our photo shoot). They were both so natural with one another that I totally forgot that they had mentioned it before. Anyways, enjoy reading a little about their story and seeing their lovely smiles!
Not only was Friday special because I had the honor of shooting Zared and Jennifer’s engagement session in San Jose at HannaH’s Coffee, Tea & Sweets, but because it was also Jennifer’s birthday! I did not know it was her birthday until I saw on Facebook. I felt like I had one of those awkward friend moments (you know what I mean haha)!
I had a blast shooting this Jon and Kelly’s engagement shoot in the Marin Headlands near San Fransisco. These two were so easy-going, fun and hilarious to be around and capture their personalities and love for each other. Kelly submitted to our Free Engagement Giveaway and told me their story. Instead of re-writing their story, I thought it best to be shared from her perspective!
She couldn’t stop smiling. He locked eyes with her’s and never broke contact. “You’re mine and we belong together…yes, we belong together for eternity.” We Belong Together by Ritchie Valens played in the background as Geronimo and Elvia practiced their first dance. It took a bit of practice, but eventually, Geronimo was able to time a twirl properly for Elvia. They may think it’s easy now, but wait until Elvia is in her wedding dress!
10 solid years. A relationship for that long is very rare in today’s world. It was lovely to see the interaction between Daryl and Jessica during our golden hour shoot in Turlock, CA. Shooting at Stan State University, the trees are fading in color and constantly losing their beautiful fall leaves. Thankfully there are some spots here and there of reds, greens, and yellows.
With silly and fun personalities, Evan and Sarah allowed me to capture their engagement photos in the beautiful National Park: Yosemite. Most of the things we did during the shoot were me allowing them to be themselves while giving minimal direction. It was important to keep that genuine part of their relationship vivid in their photos. The goal is not to hide their personalities to get out of them what I want but to let Evan and Sarah be who they are as a couple.
Evan and Sarah had their engagement session in the valley of California’s Yosemite National Park. There was gorgeous light, smiles, sounds of constant laugher and a bike rider who gave us a suggestion on where we should shoot!
