Every couple wants the WOW FACTOR when it comes to shooting their engagement session. If you have never been to San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, you would know that this place is the definition of stunning! Derick & Christine had said that they wanted a formal engagement and I knew that this was the place I had to recommend them. Although far away, Christine’s dress in this shot is killer and brought sexiness to a broad perspective view that can completely lose the main subject altogether.
Palace of Fine Arts Engagement Challenges
With every session, there are a couple of challenges we had to face in approaching this engagement session. First was, of course, the weather. San Francisco weather can be highly unpredictable. Thankfully the engagement session was booked on a day where the weather apps were saying it would be cloudy and not raining. However, there were crazy amounts of wind during the whole session! Derick and Christine brought jackets to wear in between different shots to keep warm while I tried to incorporate movements to keep them from freezing to death.
Then secondly was the tourists. I could not imagine doing the same session on a Saturday or Sunday with the number of people we had to perfectly time our shots to make sure there was no one accidentally photobombing. Patience is key here as with any location. I’m so grateful for Derick and Christine in entrusting me with their engagement session by being patient and willing to go the extra mile in capturing the epic shots! I am excited to share more teasers and reveal the final gallery of this San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts Engagement Session.
