Not every newly engaged couple wants to have their engagement session on the sandy beach itself, but would rather have the ocean in the background of their images. Jared and Janessa decided to have their engagement photo taken at San Fransisco’s Sutro Baths.
If you are a lover of sleep, the rising of the morning sun can be the villain to the start any date. Props to Jace and Stephanie who was willing enough to have a morning couples session despite having a late night shift at work the day prior! Mornings can reveal a lot about a person: if you need coffee to survive the early hours, or if you have a need for a routine to actually have a productive morning, or you are naturally an early-bird and the mornings do not bother you at all!
Having holiday leave, Shane came home to the Central Valley of California to spend time with his family. As soon as the rest of the family got wind of his homecoming, the sister of her older brother, Britani, messaged me asking if I would be willing to capture their family photos. I have not seen or talked with Britani or Shane since we attended high school almost 4 years ago!
With silly and fun personalities, Evan and Sarah allowed me to capture their engagement photos in the beautiful National Park: Yosemite. Most of the things we did during the shoot were me allowing them to be themselves while giving minimal direction. It was important to keep that genuine part of their relationship vivid in their photos. The goal is not to hide their personalities to get out of them what I want but to let Evan and Sarah be who they are as a couple.
ulie was an Independent Learning teacher at my former high school, Valley Charter High School in Modesto, CA. Although she was never my teacher, she treated me as if I was her own student: supportive, loving, and encouraging. We never kept in touch that often since my graduation in 2013, but when I saw her name come across my desk I knew exactly who she was and what she had meant to me during my high school years- always passionate for her students. Catching up with each other’s lives, I told her about my photography business to which she responded with absolute joy in her desire to have her family photos taken! I was thrilled and honored to have met her two kiddos, Shyanne & Wyatt. We had fun with smiles, laughs, and silliness. Despite their rejections, this is a photogenic family right here!
I first met Gerrit and Annika the day of their photoshoot. Both children were very outgoing and easy to talk to. I asked them about their photo posing experiences since I wasn’t their first photographer they’ve had take their photos before. Gerrit and Annika are homeschooled by their mom, Christi, who wanted to have their “school photos” taken but their usual photographer recently moved away.
Sisters who could be one of the most photogenic pair you’ll ever meet! With beautiful hearts and personalities, there is so much life and laughter in them both. Tatyanna is planning on living in Austria for 4-5 months during the summer, while Katarina is planning on visiting her towards the end of her stay. I adore these two beautiful ladies and look forward where life takes them!
